Americans Are Funny People, Part 1

I was just thinking today, Americans are funny people!

We are increasingly developing a taste for a government that caters to our every need: We would like the powers that be to be completely responsible for our education, our healthcare, our employment, our personal safety and heck, even our happiness.

But we HATE PAYING TAXES!

In fact, complaining about taxes has become a national pastime. Here in Chicago, it seems to be in the news every day. But all that nannying comes with a price. Somebody has to pay all those government employees and fund all those programs.

So in other words, we want a Cadillac government at a Yugo price.

Anyone care to explain this?

We live in an entitlement culture.

I'm one who advocates for lower taxes, spending cuts and the reduction of government.

I'm fine with a Chevy Government rather than a Cadillac.

We are self-concerned (more and more) and do not care who the govt. takes from...as long as it's not us.

A picture of our sinfulness playing out in greater measure.
